American Council on Gift Annuities

While in the “city by the bay”, you can also take the Blue and Gold Line to Alcatraz Island to see the famous Alcatraz prison where some of America’s most infamous citizens found residence after they failed to “play by the rules”. The prison, open to the public as a National Park Service site, offers tours through the cell blocks of some of the most famous criminals of a bygone day. You can experience “solitary confinement”, feel the wind as it blows through the prison with very little to soften its cold edge, and hear the steel doors as they close reminding us of the true challenge of incarceration on this most famous of United States prison properties. The trip on the bay is beautiful and on some tours you can also visit Sausalito, go under the Golden Gate Bridge and just take a leisurely tour around the beautiful San Francisco Bay.
