Mission Statement

 

The American Council on Gift Annuities actively promotes responsible philanthropy through actuarially sound gift annuity rate recommendations, quality training opportunities, and the advocacy of appropriate consumer protection.

In furtherance of its mission, the American Council on Gift Annuities will:

  • Continue our consistent service to the charitable community and its donors through all economic, political, and social circumstances, as we have for over 75 years;

  • Expand on our proven long-term record of top quality training and consultation opportunities focused on the charitable community and the donors who support it;

  • Recommend charitable gift annuity rates and methodology that will continue to be the recognized standard by regulators and charities alike;

  • Promote financial stability of charities and provide an additional source of credibility to their donors through actuarially sound rate recommendations;

  • Actively encourage charities to join together with regulators and legislative bodies to assure appropriate protection for the donating public;

  • Provide educational information on charitable gift annuities and other planned giving methods on a regular basis; and

  • Ensure sponsors and the charitable community are informed about the latest developments regarding charitable gift annuity state regulation issues.
