I am pleased to share important updates as we look ahead to the new year. Beginning in 2026, the annual Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) limit will increase to $111,000 for individuals aged 70½ and older. This adjustment represents a significant opportunity for those who wish to make charitable contributions directly from their retirement accounts. In addition, the one-time election to fund a life income gift from a QCD will rise to $55,000. These changes not only expand the possibilities for philanthropy but also provide new avenues for thoughtful financial planning that can benefit both donors and the organizations they support. Our educational programming continues to thrive. Our recent webinars, Assessing the Health of Your Gift Annuity Program and Early Terminations of CGAs are now available to watch on demand. Free member access makes it easier than ever to catch up on valuable continuing education at your own pace. Looking forward, registration is open for our upcoming webinar, A Step-By-Step Guide to Testamentary CGAs. We encourage everyone to take advantage of these education sessions to stay informed and connected. At the beginning of November, we held a very successful board meeting. The discussions were productive, and the decisions made will help guide our organization into 2026 with clarity and confidence. The commitment and vision of our board members continue to strengthen the Council and ensure that we remain focused on our mission. As the year draws to a close, we want to express our deepest gratitude to our organizational members and partners. Your support and collaboration are the driving forces behind our success, and we are truly thankful for the role you play in advancing our work to foster the success of charitable gift annuity programs through suggested maximum gift annuity rates, education, research, monitoring state regulations, advocacy, and other activities that promote good gifts for nonprofits and their donors. On behalf of the American Council on Gift Annuities, we wish you a joyful holiday season and a new year filled with hope, prosperity, and continued partnership. |
