Dear ACGA Members, The ACGA is fast approaching its 100th anniversary in April 2027, and work is underway to both mark this auspicious occasion and prepare for the next chapter of supporting those who work to promote and steward charitable gift annuity programs. As we have reflected on this milestone, we at ACGA have made a commitment to focusing on accessibility, education, and year-round engagement. As part of these efforts, we are developing a new ACGA Bootcamp Series of online education. This will be an intensive learning program offering certification at three levels—beginner, intermediate, and advanced. The training series will be launched in 2027 to help professionals strengthen their skills and credentials in gift planning with special emphasis on charitable gift annuities. We look forward to sharing more information soon about the structure and cost for this exciting new opportunity. Both the Bootcamp and our existing webinar series feature leading voices in charitable gift planning. After we launch the Bootcamp, we will continue to offer our webinars; remember if you are a member of ACGA, our existing webinar series is free to attend or watch later at your convenience. To make these expanded offerings possible, ACGA will no longer host an in-person conference. We appreciate your participation with our past in-person conferences. We believe our expansive online education will assist more members with education and networking at less expense for all. The ACGA Board of Directors and volunteers continue their diligent monitoring of laws and lobbying for charities’ in the various states that regulate charitable gift annuities. We have worked to promote productive regulations in New York, Washington, and Maryland. In addition, we have built a collaborative relationship with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners as a means for these important regulators to understand the intricacies and value of charitable gift annuities. As we consider our plans to celebrate 100 years, we thank you for your continued support and commitment to advancing charitable gift planning and gift annuities. The Board of Directors of ACGA and other committed volunteers are working very hard to provide helpful service to you and the organizations you represent. We always aim to promote the effective use of charitable gift annuities on behalf your important charitable mission. Together, we’ll carry ACGA’s trusted legacy into its next century. Warm regards, Phil Purcell, President |
