This issue of our ACGA Newsletter is full of useful content that you may want to not only read and save for reference, but also share with colleagues who have an interest in or work with charitable gift annuities. I would especially point you to the article on rates. Since we had changes to our maximum recommended rates schedule on January 1 of this year, we’ve had several questions related to our processes for creation of the rates, the factors that influence those decisions and how charities may decide to use those recommendations. We hope this article will be helpful in better understanding the rates process and the ongoing work that we do.
I’m looking forward to joining you in Atlanta in less than two months for the 34th ACGA Gift Planning Conference. We will be meeting from April 20-22 at the beautiful Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel and Convention Center. The Waverly has excellent space for our conference with great break-out rooms, beautiful ballrooms for our plenary sessions and an amazing open exhibit space with plenty of room for you to meet our exhibitors and learn what they have to offer your program. If you’re not registered yet, it’s not too late. Go to our website for more information: https://www.acga-web.org/conference-registration. And remember - ACGA members get discounted registration fees.
We have had a few folks asking about precautions related to the coronavirus that is a health concern in many parts of the world including the U.S. We will be meeting in the home of the CDC and will be following precautions recommended by health officials. At this time, we recommend that you consider the everyday preventive actions recommended by CDC which can be found at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/prevention-treatment.html.
Hope you find the newsletter useful, and worth sharing with your colleagues. Thank you for being part of the ACGA community, and I hope to see you in Atlanta in April!
