A Word from the President - March 2025

Purcell PhotoThe American Council on Gift Annuities (ACGA) is focused on 2025 being an amazing year as we encourage and advocate for charities across America issuing charitable gift annuities. Many individuals only connect the Council with our work establishing CGA rates, but we are much more.

  • ACGA board volunteers recently presented to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners during their fall 2024 National Meeting in Denver, CO to explain the intricacies of charitable gift annuities and their importance to our donors and our organizations.
  • The ACGA Research Committee is working hard to prepare the 2025 quadrennial survey. The survey includes questions related to gifts, annuitants, administration, and investments. The survey results are made available to members and includes over 20 years of data. Watch your inbox this spring for your opportunity to participate.
  • The ACGA Programs Committee have curated our first two professional development webinar opportunities for 2025. The webinars are free for members and qualify for 1.0 CFRE or CFP CE credit. Registration is still available for the April event, and we have one coming in June as well.

Our members are at the heart of everything we do! And in the spirit of gratefulness, please join me in thanking ACGA board member, Kate Melvin, for her time, talent, and commitment to the American Council on Gift Annuities. Kate will be leaving the ACGA board as she continues her career as Chief Financial Officer of the Indiana Youth Institute in Indianapolis, IN.  Kate will be missed but her impact as a pivotal volunteer will continue to be felt by all our members.

Thank you, our members, for your work in the promotion of charitable gift annuities – together we are making a difference!
