Thursday, June 22, 2023, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM EDT
Category: Webinar
David Ely, CFA Join us on Thursday, June 22nd, at 1:00 p.m. for a webinar about the ACGA’s suggested maximum charitable gift annuity rates. Since its inception, the American Council on Gift Annuities has suggested gift annuity rates that appeal to donors yet protect charities' assets and allow for meaningful gifts to them. Presenter David Ely, Portfolio Manager at Brown Advisory, and the Vice President of Rates & Regulations for the ACGA, will describe how the current ACGA rates, which went into effect January 1, 2023, fit in with historical gift annuity rates, the assumptions underlying the rates, and the rationale for each of the assumptions. He’ll also discuss the current conflict between New York maximum annuity rates and the ACGA rates: which annuities and annuitant ages are affected, what we know and don’t know about New York’s maximum rates, and where things stand with the ACGA’s efforts to resolve the conflict. You will come away from the webinar with knowledge to help explain the ACGA rates to your administration, co-workers, and donors, as well as an understanding of the situation in New York and how it does or does not affect your charity. All participants will receive an electronic copy of the full rates paper during the webinar and access to the recorded webinar the day after. Space is limited to register early!
